Soteria Precision Medicine Foundation to Provide Oncology Navigation Support to US Special Forces

NEW YORK – Soteria Precision Medicine Foundation on Tuesday announced a cooperative research and development agreement with the US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) to provide precision oncology navigation services.

The collaboration will provide support to active-duty Special Operations Forces (SOF) members who have cancer, beginning with Navy SEALs. USSOCOM will use Soteria's oncology navigation services, which include providing second opinions and virtual molecular tumor board reviews, supporting the utilization of genomic data, supporting patients' clinical trial evaluation and enrollment, and evaluating combination therapy and immunotherapy options.

The San Diego-based nonprofit can also help patients manage other services, such as molecular tumor profiling, germline sequencing, genetic counseling, personalized cancer vaccine development, and cell therapy treatment. The collaboration aims to help SOF members with cancer navigate treatment options, including personalized treatment, by using genomic testing services and precision oncology approaches.
