New Mexico Cancer Center, Deep Lens Ink Clinical Trial Matching Partnership

NEW YORK – The New Mexico Cancer Center on Wednesday said that it will integrate software company Deep Lens' artificial intelligence-based clinical trial screening and enrollment platform, called VIPER, into its network.

Columbus, Ohio-based Deep Lens' VIPER is a cloud-based technology that combines lab, genomic, and electronic medical records data to match patients to treatments and trials. The partnership gives NMCC's 31 physicians and oncologists access to VIPER, which will be integrated into the cancer center's medical records system, facilitated by Flatiron Health's OncoEMR, and will incorporate data from molecular tests provided by Tempus and pathology test reports.

Doctors at NMCC "were the first to bring cancer care to the western part of the state — including Navajo Nation — which has removed barriers for care in this area and resulted in improved patient outcomes," Greg Andreola, chief revenue officer at Deep Lens, said in a statement. "We are excited to integrate VIPER into this network so that an increasing number of cancer patients in New Mexico — in all geographic areas — have exposure and access to the newest therapies in development, which may help change the course of their disease."
